World Class Kayaking in the white waters of the Slave River Rapids with accommodation at Raven’s Nest Camp; situated in Alberta’s northern most community of Fort Fitzgerald. This service is designed to give a unique service to paddlers and boaters who can walk to the river in minutes and in a kilometre of paddling be experiencing the magnificent Cassette Rapids, one of four sets in the 16 kilometres of river run. For canoeists and boaters the dock gives you a safe place to depart and land.

For tenters, with economy in mind, we have tent sites with wood and water plus showers. Storage of extra equipment is available. Lines are set up to dry equipment and clothes.

Groups of 6 to 8 can find accommodation in our 14 x 70 lodge.

Pick up at Fort Smith airport and transport can be arranged as well as for paddlers who need transportation to town for shopping.

Phone service as well as high speed internet is available. All services are for your comfort and rest while paddling and holidaying.

Raven’s Nest Rates – 2006:
    Rates for tent places - $15.00 per day
    Rates for room at lodge - $30.00 per day (self service)

Note: All paddling and river activities are experienced by individuals on their own risk and independent of Taiga Tour Company responsibility. It is highly recommended that paddlers connect with local or experienced paddlers with Slave Rapids familiarity. These are world class paddling conditions not to be challenged with out experience and guidance from other well informed paddlers.

Optional Activities offered by Taiga Tour Company can be arranged, such as a boat cruise, day trip into Wood Buffalo National Park or hiking on salt plains and Karst lands.
